Todays Meeting is all about finishing our Get Moving Journey. After having the Wyo Weatherization Guys help us do a building Audit on Mansface Church, we came up with a list of items to help the building. The three main items we chose to help with where: Fire/Smoke Detectors, Carbon monoxide Detectors and signs for the fire extinguishers. A few Boy Scouts are helping us out with the installation of these items. Mansface Council approved our assistance with the building and will be on site today for our meeting. We are also welcoming the Brownie troop today, they are sending us three new girls at our Bridging Ceremony.

We were still waiting to hear from some parents about early registrations.  Please let us know if you do not want your daughter re-registered for next year. Our troop will take care of all who want to continue in Girl Scouting next year.

Vacuum Donation and Thank You to Mansface Church!

This is what our Junior girls wrote up for the Newspaper to go along with our donation of the Vacuum to St. Johns Episcopal Church. They did an awesome job!

A Heart Felt, Thank You!

The Girl Scouts of Green River would like to publicly thank Saint Johns Episcopal Church for allowing scouts to host events at their building located on 350 Mansface Street. Saint Johns Episcopal Church has always been very gracious to the Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming. To show our appreciation for their generous actions, the Girl Scouts of Green River have purchased a Shark Rocket Professional Vacuum to help maintain the beauty of the building. Three of our Girl Scout Troops currently hold their troop meetings in their building, along with other large Service Unit events.  St. Johns Episcopal Church continues to impact the community in an uplifting and positive influence and we are truly grateful for their support in helping raise girls of courage, confidence and character.
Thank You from the Green River Girl Scouts!

For our last few meetings we are working on our Innovate Goal. Today the lovely friends from Wyoming Weatherization Services will be here to help us with an Energy Audit on the St. Johns Episcopal Church.  From this audit we need to implement a plan on how we can help improve the buildings energy footprint as our Innovate Goal. This is our last big hurdle to finish our Get Moving Journey!  Also, We will be stuffing our animal shelter adoption bags at the May 5th meeting and then meet at the Shelter to donate them later in that week.

As our troop meetings come to a close for the year we need to start thinking about next year. Our girls have done a great job with cookies and if they are planning to be in Girl Scouts again for the 2015-2016 Girl Scout Year. We are happy to re-register these hard working girls.  Early registration is just starting and we would love to get these girls registered again for next year.  Please let Jill or Megan know if you are NOT planning to be apart of Girl Scouts next year.

You all rocked it at our cookie booth on Saturday! Thanks for all you do to grow in new directions. We want you all to have turns advertising, using your customer service skills and learning those money skills. You all did a wonderful job. We sold over 370 boxes of cookies in front of the Harley store. We will be dividing those cookie rewards between all the girls that were able to participate.

Thanks for all your help with Cookie Deliveries!
Remember to wear your vest/sash when delivering cookies!
You must be representing Girl Scouts appropriately.
If you have not turned in your cookie money you will need to do so by
April 27th to Jill or Megan.

UPCOMING COOKIE BOOTH:
Friday April 24th- 4-6pm @ Smiths in Green River.

Upcoming Service Projects:
It’s Not too late to still help the Animal Shelter!
Bring what you can to our next meeting!
The best way we can help the Animal Shelter is by putting together adoptions kits for newly adopted animals.  Things we are in need of for the kits are: Collars, Treats, Small or large food/water bowls, small bags of food, toys, pet shampoo, brushes. Really, anything you can think of to add to a kit for dogs & cats to help them transition to their new families.
We are asking for a bit of help from the girls with this. Have them involved in shopping for a few items or trying to get items donated. They are to be involved as little or as much as they want. All items we are missing we will go shopping for as leaders and then have the girls assemble and take the kits to the animal shelter. Every item counts… so please make this a teachable experience within your/their means and abilities.  Please bring what you can to our next meeting. We will keep you posted on what day we will actually be able to deliver these kits to the Animal Shelter at the first Part of May.
Arbor Day!! May 9th @ 10 am

Vacuum Donation to St. Johns Episcopal Church:
Tomorrow: Wednesday April 22nd @ 4pm.
As a service unit to say thank you to St. Johns for always letting us host our troop meetings and other large service unit events. We have purchased a vacuum to help maintain this building to show our appreciation. We will be presenting this gift to the Church tomorrow afternoon at 4pm. We are asking any girl scout who would like to participate and get their picture taken so we can make a public thank you to please join us. Please come dressed in your uniform. This should take less than 30 minutes.
Southwest Wyoming Girl Scouts have a new Community Development Manager her name is Melissa Webb. She is making day camp and another summer camp happen in our area. All information is in the news letter she sent out.

DELAY IN COOKIE DELIVERY INFORMATION!

Information sent from Council:

Little Brownie Bakers notified our council there would be a delay in the delivery of Girl Scout Cookies. Delivery of Girl Scout Cookies will now take place March 27-April 2.

Although it is disappointing that we have to experience a delay, this extra week gives girls a fantastic opportunity to strive toward their goals by continuing to take orders.

Once cookies arrive in Montana & Wyoming, we will have plenty of cookies to support the girls in exceeding their goals.

As a result of the delayed delivery, the sale has been extended by one week.
-Booth sales will be April 3rd-April 26th.
-Frozen Frenzy will remain open for participation until March 26th.
