First Meeting for the 2014-2015 Girl Scout Year!
Hello Girl Scouts! We are excited for our first Troop Meeting tomorrow at Mansface Church. Don't forget we need a parent to fill out some paperwork and go over some important items. While Parents are meeting with Jill the Girls will be working on getting to know one another. We have 12 girls in our troop so far this year and we can't wait to meet all our new friends! We will end with a simple project and if all goes well you might sneak out a bit early with your parents. See you tomorrow at four!

update * AQUARIUM TRIP * update
Attention Junior Girls for 2013-2014
We have rescheduled our Aquarium Trip to Utah for
Saturday October 11th, 2014.
We will be meeting at Megan house at 8am. Due to overlap with the Cadettes sleepover we have moved this date yet again. So sorry, but not enough girls could go to make it worth it. So, last try! Again, We have moved the Aquarium trip from September 27th to October 11th.
The Aquarium opens at 10am and we want to be there as soon as we can. We are planning to leave Utah at 5pm, putting us back in Green River by 8pm. We will drop the girls off at their homes on our way in.
Lunch and Dinner meals will be taken care of.
Please send girls with any items they may need for entertainment while driving, any snacks they might be picky about and a bottle of water.
Sash/Vest will be expected as we are representing our Troop.
When you drop your girl off, please be aware that they need to have permission slips signed.
If your girl is not able to make it please Text/Call Megan so we can plan accordingly.
We look forward to being together again! Thank you!

please check this blog regularly. You can sign up for email notifications for
when the Troop blog is updated. We will do our best to keep all Green River
Service Unit events updated here also.
We will continue
to provide updated/short notice information via text messaging. Please make
sure we have current contact information with a primary contact number. On the flip side, please don’t hesitate to
contact any of us with questions or concerns.
Some Troop Expectations: As we welcome
these girls into Juniors there are some expectations that they need to be aware
of. The girls need to start being more responsible/involved with each passing
year in Girls Scouts. Keeping that in mind, we need to be having the girls in uniform
for our meetings. We are not going to be strict, but a reward system will be
established to reinforce this. Basic Uniform: Junior Sash or Vest with a white
shirt under paired with a tan/khaki pant or skirt. If we are doing a community event,
uniform is required. We want to represent Girl Scouts respectfully.
We ask girls to come
and be ready to be involved. We try to make every event fun… but there are
things we do need to accomplish at each meeting. Girls need to be respectful and prepared to
start our meetings. We start each
meeting with our promise/law and anything else the girls establish. We will end
each meeting with a friendship circle. The
girls are expected to learn, know and hopefully life the Girl Scout Promise and
Law.
Dues: We are asking for 5 dollars a month in dues for our
9 months of troop meetings. If you want
to pay in one lump sum for the year your grand total is $45.00. Cookies make our activities possible, but they
do not cover everything for our supplies.
Book/Uniform:
The start up kits for Juniors is running $50.00 per girl. That is
for a sash, council patch, flag, troop number, book, Journey book, bag,
insignia tab/pins. We are going to be
doing the Get Moving Journey this year. We
are happy to order these kits all at once or you can go to GSMW.ORG and shop
yourself. You will need to get this as
soon as possible if we do not order it for you.
Investiture
Date: Tuesday October 7th from 6-7pm at
the Green River High School. This is our rededication
ceremony that we all do as a Service Unit.
Next Troop Meeting Dates: October
14th and October 28th.

Sad News
Hello all, with a sad heart I need to cancel our Aquarium trip this upcoming week. I had unforseen car issues and do not have a dependable vehicle to take the girls in this week. We will reschedule for a weekend after school starts. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.
We will be contacting every as our new Girl Scout year gets underway after school srarts. We will be holding a parent meeting before our actual year starts so that we are all on the same page this year.
FYI a little heads up information. Tanya and I will be joining with Jill to make up our Junior Troop Leaders while our Cadettes will Be moving up with Cynthia and Kris. Our Junior troop will still be meeting on Tuesdays.
For the girls who did not make it to our end of year BBQ. I have your cookie incentives and will be bringing them by to you this week when I can. Along with your badges. I was hoping to give them at our summer get togethers. Good intentions but unforeseen events changed our summer. Looking forward to seeing you all soon. Hope you have all had an amazing Summer!

Summer Fun!
HAPPY SUMMER Girl Scout Families! We hope it is going well for everyone! July has been one crazy thing after another so Tanya I decided to not have an event in July. Everyone was in too many different directions. We are still planning on our Aquarium trip for August.
We have decided on August 12th the Tuesday before School starts to have our day trip. We will leave in the morning for the Aquarium in Draper, UT and be home that same evening. It will be a busy but wonderful day. Please save the date and keep it open so that all our girls can join us. More detailed information to come as the event gets closer. Thank you all for your support, we love ya!
